Extreme Rules 2017: Our Picks

It’s time for WWE Extreme Rules 2017. The night that WWE goes ‘Extreme’. Not to many matches are that ‘extreme’ but in the end this should be a solid & fun ppv. The aftermath of this ppv will shape the road to Summerslam. How many titles will change hands? Is someone gonna turn heel?

  • Sasha Banks & Rich Swann vs. Alicia Fox & Noam Darr: Alicia Fox & Noam Darr; Sigh. Why is this even a thing?
  • Cruiserweight Championship (Submission Match) — Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries: Austin Aries; I want to see a pissed off Neville chase the title.
  • Tag Team Championship (Steel Cage Match) — The Hardy Boyz (c) vs. Sheamus & Cesaro: Sheamus & Cesaro; They really have been on fire the past few months and it’s time for them to get the titles back. I also hope this sets up a slight ‘break’ in Matt Hardy.
  • Women’s Championship (Kendo Stick on a Pole Match) — Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Bayley: Alexa Bliss; Alexa is great at being on top, but I want this to be a stepping stone for the Bayley character to evolve into something different. Maybe she could step away from the side pony tail and bright colors and become a little more “serious” and “unforgiving” in the ring. She needs to get mad that none of the other women take her seriously, and do something about it. Not a heel turn or anything, but more of a “whoaa..don’t piss off Bayley or she’ll flip out” type of character.
  • Intercontinental Championship (No Champion’s Advantage) — Dean Ambrose (c) vs. The Miz: The Miz; Mayrse will get involved and do something to the Miz so Ambrose will be disqualified. I feel like at first she may get herself banned from ringside, but she will return later. I would also love to see a swerve where she is going to hit the Miz but Dean Ambrose actually gets in the way and Mayrse ends up getting the Miz disqualified instead.
  • No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way (Extreme Rules Match) — Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe: The Demon King; If Finn Balor enters this match as the Demon King persona, he should win. If he doesn’t, he’s actually #4 on my list. If I go by process of elimination, Rollins or Reigns would win, if not Balor. But, I’m ready for Finn to bring out his alter persona for his biggest match (so far) on the main roster.

  • Sasha Banks & Rich Swann vs. Alicia Fox & Noam Darr: Sasha Banks & Rich Swann;
  • Cruiserweight Championship (Submission Match) — Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries: Austin Aries; This will be the 3rd time that these two face off in a singles match for the Title. Everytime I have picked The King of the Cruiserweights to win because his reign needed to continue. While I feel the reign can still continue Neville will not cheat his way out of this one. Aries will become our next CW Champ.
  • Tag Team Championship (Steel Cage Match) — The Hardy Boyz (c) vs. Sheamus & Cesaro: Sheamus & Cesaro (do do dooo);
  • Women’s Championship (Kendo Stick on a Pole Match) — Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Bayley: Bayley; Because no one can be RAW Women’s Champion for long.
  • Intercontinental Championship (No Champion’s Advantage) — Dean Ambrose (c) vs. The Miz: Dean Ambrose; Not every title can change at Extreme Rules. But let elaborate on LJ Love’s scenario…What if Mayrse was to get disoriented because she gets hairspray (or something)  in her own eyes, and then accidentally kicks the Miz in the balls.
  • No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way (Extreme Rules Match) — Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe: Roman Reigns; Well, it can’t be Joe because the WWE Universe isn’t ready for Joe because they don’t know him on the main roster yet. It can’t be Bray either because Bray doesn’t win matches. The remaining three all could potentially win this match. Finn won’t because Bray will be using most of his time to ‘destory’ Balor, and Rollins won’t because Reigns will take out Rollins. Reigns pins Rollins after a brutal attack to become No. 1 Contender.

  • Sasha Banks & Rich Swann vs. Alicia Fox & Noam Darr: I see Alicia and Noam stealing the win with Noam pinning Rich Swann. They are more serious and ready for Sasha and Rich.
  • Cruiserweight Championship (Submission Match) — Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries: I think its time for Aries to claim that title. He is going into the match with the momentum.
  • Tag Team Championship (Steel Cage Match) — The Hardy Boyz (c) vs. Sheamus & Cesaro: The Hardy Boyz are the kings of the extreme matches. They aren’t called team extreme for no reason. I expect a off the top of the cage move as well.
  • Women’s Championship (Kendo Stick on a Pole Match) — Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Bayley: I think Bayley finally gets extreme and gets her revenge on Alexa as well as her title back. Alexa isn’t prepared for bayley to finally get mad and attack her with the kendo stick. I do believe Nia will come back into play as well.
  • Intercontinental Championship (No Champion’s Advantage) — Dean Ambrose (c) vs. The Miz: I think the Miz takes that title from Dean the same way he has before, with the strong woman behind him. Expect Maryse to be the wildcard as usual
  • No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way (Extreme Rules Match) — Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe: I really just don’t want Roman to win only because he is getting stale in the main event picture to me. I really want Samoa Joe to win so that we can see Brock actually have a match where he doesn’t look like he could easily win.
